The 5 must-have pieces of jewelry according to Amélie Huynh

" Her most precious jewel, the one she never takes off, the 5 jewels that all women should wear ," Amélie Huynh took part in the interview with jewelry designers for Vogue Paris.

What is your first jewelry memory?

A silver ring in the shape of a thorny rose, covering one entire phalanx, bought at a flea market with my savings. I never took it off; it was a part of me.

What is your most precious jewel?

My pendulum, I like the feeling of its weight which anchors me, its aesthetic which is both full and precious, the idea that it can guide me.

The one you never take off?

A medal whose symbols echo my life journey.

The one in your collection that you like to give to a friend?

A bracelet! I find it's a piece of jewelry that dresses up and that we rarely give ourselves because we prefer rings or earrings that seem more visible. I love bracelets worn in accumulation, each one always brings a little story, I wear them like talismans or landmarks. Ultimately, and that's how I like to give them.

Three words to describe your style?

Recognizable and rather minimalist (I almost only dress in black and white), chic and relaxed.

What is your favorite precious metal?

Jewelry silver! I find it exciting to work this metal as one works gold; I love its energy and its understated brilliance. Silver is more precious than gold for me; it has always been a given. I have no energetic connection with gold, whereas silver connects me to the moon, to its chiaroscuro duality.

I say jewelry silver because I'm talking about rhodium-plated silver, the most expensive metal in the world, and that's what we use at Statement. This enhances the silver's white, shiny color, prevents it from turning black, while still allowing it to develop a patina. 925 silver is more complex to set and work with, especially on handmade pieces like ours, but it's this complexity that attracts me, and I love the modernity of silver and its ability to highlight the personality of the wearer.

Which stone suits you best?

Without hesitation, the natural white diamond. For its energy on the one hand and because it is timeless, we never tire of it, it adapts to all styles, and it is extremely solid and finally it can be cut in a hundred different ways.

Do you have a crush on vintage jewelry?

I wear family jewels but I don't wear vintage jewels whose history I don't know about the person who wore them before me. It's a very personal point of view and it doesn't stop me from promoting the circular economy, quite the contrary.

Do you wear a watch every day? If so, which one?

I don't wear them anymore, but I admire watchmaking expertise and beautiful watches.

The 5 pieces a woman should always have in her jewelry box?

  • A pinky ring is absolutely chic, especially in silver and devoid of its historical community connotation.
  • An index finger ring gives style and undeniable confidence, it is the finger of power and determination.
  • A family jewel to carry your roots with you at all times.
  • A pendulum for its ability to let our intuition speak.
  • A single earring, preferably sharp.

The ultimate piece of jewelry you would dream of acquiring?

An Art Deco-style silver cuff, entirely paved with diamonds and studded with shungite—the dream! I love geometric jewelry with volume but not too heavy, made possible by the lower density of silver compared to gold.
