Discover how traditional fine jewelry techniques bring out the beauty of STATEMENT's precious signature materials. Today, we're focusing on lost-wax casting.
Shining on your finger or sparkling in your ear, your jewelry is the armor that projects and protects who you are. But do you know how it's made?
Each STATEMENT piece begins as a concept. Transformed by our design team into a technical drawing and then a 3D model, it takes shape in the hands of our artisans through the lost-wax casting process.
Used today to create high-precision metal parts, both in industry and fine jewelry, this technique is actually thousands of years old. Archaeologists have unearthed artifacts using this method on virtually every continent, dating back as far as 3000 BC.
In the workshops, a mold is created, coated with wax to transcribe the thickness of the piece. This wax shell is then filled with a high-temperature mixture, creating a matrix into which the molten silver can be poured. Once the assembly has cooled, the mold and matrix are removed, revealing the metal structure thus formed.
Already precious, the silver piece can then continue its journey through artisanal know-how to be set with diamonds.
